Why I wrote my own Eulogy
IS IT MORBID OR GENIUS?
Every few months, I snuggle up to my planner and read my eulogy out loud.
I know. Mildly morbid and most definitely odd.
But I do it to remind myself of the life I want to live.
After working with hundreds of moms over the past 17 years, one thing has become crystal clear… most moms feel like something is missing.
Intrigued by this commonality, I dug deeper and realized we were missing similar things:
We missed our former pre-kid freedom—when we were independent and more in control of our days.
Naturally, I asked, “What's stopping you from taking back control now?”
In general, I was given variations of these excuses:
I’ll wait until my kids are out of the house
I don’t have the time right now because I’m busy being a mom
Both of these responses are 100% valid.
So what do you do?
Get clear on what kind of life you want to lead, and be honest about what it will take to get there.
And here’s the secret to it all: the life you want to live in your eulogy.
When I created my own plan back in 2020, my life fundamentally changed.
It turns out that simply moving toward the life you want is incredibly rewarding.
My spirits lifted, my anxiety dropped, and I felt relief.
